Assistant General Manager / Senior Manager

JOB TITLE           :             ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER / SENIOR MANAGER                                                  

REPORTS TO       :             TAS GENERAL MANAGER AND TAS GOVERNING BOARD

A. Primary Purpose:

The AGM / SM will be the co-ordinator of the following key areas of responsibilities:

  • a) Secretariat Management
  • b) Sports Development (Pathway, Community)
  • c) Events Management
  • d) Marketing, Communications, PR, Brand Management (Website, Social Media)
  • e) Business, Sponsorship, Donation Management

a) Secretariat Management

  • To oversee the work and well-being of all staff
  • To ensure optimal staffing requirements.
  • Plan, appraise and monitor staff development.
  • To manage all staffing issue (eg, resolve conflict, provide counselling, motivate and encourage)

b) Sports Development

  • Oversee the development of community and of grass roots programs to increase participation
  • Support the Development Committee in their programs (Youth Aquathlon League, Camps, Clinics)
  • Support the Women’s Committee in their programs (Women’s Race, Camps, Clinics)

c) Events Management

  • Competition Manager role in TAS organized Events (with 3rd party Event Delivery Partner), ensure the budget and timeline of the event, proper management and organisation in accordance to agreement.
  • Oversee the sanction policy, Recruitment of Technical Officials for sanctioned events.
  • Oversee the planning, coordination and management of Triathlon and related multi-sports Events’ Calendar in Singapore 

d) Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Brand Management (Together with GM and Board, with support from 3rd party external vendors where required)

  • Oversee and Manage TAS brand and public communications
  • Oversee and Manage TAS website and Social Media
  • Ensure timely dissemination of news and updates to the triathlon communities through various platforms such as TAS website, social media, emails, newsletter etc.
  • Develop and implement a marketing plan to properly elevate and strengthen TAS brand publicly: schedule of postings to increase followings, outreach and profile of TAS’s activities, athletes, clubs.
  • Where needed, to Invite Guest of Honour for events, address the necessary needs and prepare the admin briefs.
  • Where needed, oversee the preparation of any press release and ensure that the releases are sent out at appropriate times for all activities, in consultation with the Board
  • Manage and maintain media relations and be media spokesperson for the organisation.

e) Business / Sponsorship / Donation Development (Together with GM and Board, with support from 3rd party external vendors where required)

  • Develop and implement strategies to diversify revenue streams.
  • Develop and Implement strategic plans to increase sponsorships and donations. Tasks includes writing sponsorship agreement, presenting the sponsorship plan, negotiating contracts, managing contractual risks
  • Manage and maintain sponsorships and partnerships agreements. Ensure deliverables for both sponsors and TAS are fulfilled.
  • Ensure events and programs are run successfully, TAS and sponsors’ publicity opportunities are optimized at all times.
  • Sponsorships (cash or value-in-kind or product or services) and donation drives for HPP and Pathway Programs

B. Secondary Purpose:

The AGM / SM will also be assisting the GM in his key functions where needed and called upon, which includes:

  • Leadership
  • Strategic Planning
  • Governance and Compliance
  • Multi Year Sports Plan
  • SportSG Annual Grant
  • Relationship and Partnership

C. General

  • Attend all meetings and prepare meeting minutes if required
  • Any other task and duties assigned by GM and/or TAS Board

Job Requirements:

  • Full time, Senior Management
  • 8 years experience in General Management, Supervisory Role, people/stakeholder Management, Business Development
  • University Degree or Diploma, preferably in fields of Business Administration, Physical Education, Sports Management or other sports-related discipline. 
  • Passion for Sports, Knowledge in Triathlon
  • Experience working with Non-Profit organisations, or any Sport Agencies is an advantage
  • Show excellent leadership quality and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude and good problem-solving skills
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Strong adaptability skills, Strong Team player with ability to build rapport and collaborative working relationship with people from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds
  • Possess initiative with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work independently under pressure to meet agreed schedules/deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Willing to work on weekends and extended working hours during events / competitions period, and travel from time to time, when called upon
  • Proficiency in MS Excel is essential, literacy in other MS Office suites required (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

33rd SEA Games, Thailand 2025 –

Triathlon Association of Singapore released our Selection Policy for the 33rd SEA Games to be held in Bangkok-Chonburi-Songkhla, Thailand from 9 to 20 December 2025.

There will be a total of 11 events across 3 disciplines: Triathlon, Duathlon, Aquathlon.

Eligibility

  • To be considered for selection, an athlete must meet all the following eligibility criteria:
  • Singapore Citizen, and should not be holding dual citizenship if they are above 22 years old, at the time of nomination
  • At least 16 years of age as of 31 December 2025, for the Individual events
  • At least 15 years of age as of 31 December 2025, for the relay events
  • Be a registered member of TAS, and in good standing
  • Draft Legal Endorsed, or had raced in a WT draft legal race in the last 12 months.
  • Valid Pre-Participation Examination
  • Have competed in at least 2 two selection events (refer to point 4.1), with at least 1 of the 2 events being an actual race (point 4.1a, 4.1b). Exemption may be granted due to extenuating circumstances (refer to point 5.4)
