The 2016 Annual General Meeting will transact the following business:
1. Welcome Address
2. To approve and confirm the Annual Report for he year ending 31 March 2016
3. To approve and confirm the Annual Statement of Accounts for the year ending 31 March 2016
4. To approve and confirm the resolution for ammendments of rules to the TAS Constitution
5. Election of the Management Committee and Executive Committee

JOM TRi is where you will have a chance to work on your swim stroke, your cycling and run mechanics as well as how best to tackle transitions and any technical doubts you may have about racing a triathlon, with the help and supervision by one of the greatest triathletes of all times - Chris McCormack in person!
JOM TRi will take place in Puteri Harbor on the 6th of August, starting at 7.30 am.

The Tri Skills Leader Course is a program driven, coordinated and managed by TAS, with the assistance of accredited TAS coaches. The course is an interactive one that involves presentations and practical coaching throughout the swim, cycle, run and transition disciplines.
TAS Tri Skills Leader Course 01/16 is now open for registration.
TAS Tri Skills Course is a fundamental skills course aimed at aspiring coaches, teachers and community leaders working with beginners, children, youth and entry-level triathletes. This course will provide a broad perspective the sport of triathlon and its sport-specific skills. Civil Service Club Singapore Duathlon 2015 rescheduled to 28 Nov, due to HAZE!
Dear all participants of Civil Service Club Singapore Duathlon,
We have had to make the difficult decision to reschedule the Civil Service Club Singapore Duathlon, scheduled to take place on Saturday October 3, due to the persisting haze situation affecting Singapore. Although we are disappointed, our priority is the health and safety of participants, staff and volunteers.
We sincerely regret this unfortunate situation and thank you for your understanding.
The new date of the event is Saturday, November 28.
All entries for registered participants will be carried forward to the new date. Keep securely the race kit (and timing chip) that you have received at race kit collection last Monday; it is the one you will use for the race.
We look forward to holding an exciting event and are hopeful that the haze will clear up soon so that you can all resume your outdoor training and be in great form for the event.

Triathlon SG-Coach Level 1 Coaching Course Registration is now Open!
Coach education is a priority for the Triathlon Association of Singapore in the support of the structure of our athlete development pipeline.
SG-Coach Level 1 is a development coaching course aimed at coaches, teachers and community leaders working with beginners, children and youth in sport. This course will provide a broad perspective of coaching, roles and responsibilities, teaching methodologies and sport-specific skills for triathlon. The work of coaches at this level will be vital in supporting the development of new and existing triathletes.
Duration / Schedule
20-hours covered over 4-week nights and 2 Saturdays, of both theory and practical sessions
- Tuesday 27th October 6:30pm to 9:00pm
- Thursday 29th October 6:30pm to 9:00pm
- Saturday 31st October 8:30am to 4:00pm
- Tuesday 3rd November 6:30pm to 9:00pm
- Thursday 5th November 6:30pm to 9:00pm
- Saturday 7th November 8:30am to 12:30pm
- Minimum 18 years old
- Have no criminal conviction
- A strong desire to coach triathlon
- Hold or have the intention to possess the following* certifications and accreditations:
- Valid TAS Membership
- Basic Sports Science (BSS) or the equivalent or exemption
- Valid Standard First Aid Certificate with AED +CPR
- Life-Saving Level 1,2,3 or higher
Priority will be given to the following:
Existing NROC coaches from swimming, cycling, athletics, School Teachers and Tri-Skills coaches.
- 100% attendance is required for the course
- Candidates are expected to participate in all sessions, discussions and practical activities
- Candidates will be evaluated on class performance and participation
- Candidates must pass both the practical assessment and written examination in order to be eligible for the SG-Coach Level 1 certification
In order to obtain the complete SG-Coach Level 1 certification, candidates must obtain the above mentioned*certifications and accreditations and fulfill all the evaluation criteria mentioned above.
SGD $374.50 (inclusive of 7% GST) per candidate

Applicants will be offered a slot within 3-working days after the stated closing date. Your course attendance will only be confirmed upon full payment of the course fees.

Important Announcement: Ultra Biathlon 2015 is not SANCTION RACE by Triathlon Association of Singapore
It is our duty to inform all the triathletes that the upcoming event, Ultra Biathlon 2015 on 17 October 2015, is NOT a sanctioned race by TAS.
1) A swim and run race format is known as Aquathlon, and not Biathlon (which is a ski and shoot event)
2) There was no communication nor plans submitted to TAS to establish the safety and fairness of this event.

Subic Bay ASTC Triathlon Asian Cup 2015
The Subic Bay ASTC Triathlon Asian Cup will be held on 25 and 26 April 2015. This race will be use as a qualifier for the 2015 Asian Triathlon Championships to be held in Chinese Taipei on 12/13 June 2015. Top 3 Junior and Top 2 Elite/U23 (of each gender) will be selected, and provided with 50% subsidies for the Asian Triathlon Championships.
Only athletes in the Triathlon Training Squad (TTS) Scheme are eligible to race in the Elite/U23/Junior Categories.

Triathlon SG-Coach Integrated Level 1 – Expression of Interest
TAS is seeking information from current and prospective coaches for the purpose of planning for the upcoming Triathlon SG-Coach Integrated Level 1 programme in 2015.
Do you already have a NCAP / SG-Coach Technical Accreditation: Yes / No (If yes please state sport and level)
Pre-requisites for Triathlon SG-Coach Integrated Level 1:
Interested parties are required to meet the following before applying for the course:
- Valid TAS Member
- Minimum age of 18 years old as of 31st December 2015
- Basic Sports Science (BSS) Course or the equivalent

Registration for SEA Games Selection Race Opens – Deadline 20 December 2014!
TAS will be holding a race to select athletes for nomination to SNOC for their consideration towards selecting athletes for the 28th SEA Games 2015. This race will be held on the 1st March 2015, Venue to be confirmed again.
Registration for this race opens now. Please submit the relevant documents by the 20 December 2015, 2359H. Late entries and incomplete submissions will not be entertained and will NOT be eligible to participate in the selection race next year.
1. Citizens of Singapore
2. 18 years of age on 31st December 2015.
3. Valid TAS Membership
4. Current athlete in TAS TTS Scheme, or
5. Had achieved the minimum standard of 2:20 for Men and 2:35 for Women at any approved Standard distance race.
6. Had read and understand the SEA Games Selection Policy.
Please submit the following by 20 December 2015, 2359H:
1. SEA Games Selection race Registration Form (soft copy to email@example.com)
2. Supporting documents for the competition stated under performance indicators. (hardcopies of official results).
3. Detailed Training plans and schedule from 1 December 2014 till 1 March 2015.

5. Athlete’s Agreement
6. Digital photos and passport copy in .JPEG format (Please refer to Photo Guidelines below)
1. Save all Photos & Passport copy into a CD.
2. All filenames in the CD to be renamed as “Surname_GivenName_Passport_Number.jpg” and “”Surname_GivenName_Photo.jpg”
3. Photos must be recent (within the last 6 months) and must be taken in colour.
4. Background of the photo must be plain white and must have good contrast against the individual’s face and hair.
5. Headgear, hair bands or dark glasses are not allowed, except for religious or medical reasons (with documentary proof).
6. Photo of applicant should be face-on, showing the top of the head to the neck with both eyes visible and eyebrows not covered. Side profiles are not accepted.
7. Photos must not be altered in any way, digitally or otherwise.
8. All photos must be 514 x 400 pixels or in passport size format.
9. All photos in .JPG file format with 300dpi resolution and file size not more than 1024KB.

Selection Process for 2015 SEA Games Triathlon
TAS will be holding an engagement session with regards to selection of athletes for the 2015 SEA Games Triathlon to be held in June next year.
This session is for athletes whom are aiming to qualify for this event. (Parents and coaches are invited as well). The pre-requisites can be found in the selection policy as attached.

Time: 7pm to 8pm
Venue: ITE Ang Mo Kio College Central, Lecture Room 58 (B5-12)
(Please take the lift at the green block, Block C, to level 5)
This will be a question and answer session, so please come prepared with your queries. DO NOTE, please read and understand the selection policy prior to attending this session.

Singapore Triathletes Denise Chia and Byrce Chong Achieved Personal Best Timings at the Nanjing 2nd Summer Youth Olympics Games
TAS would like to congratulate our youth triathletes, Bryce Chong and Denise Chia, for achieving personal best timings in their respective individual category, at the 2014 Second Summer Youth Olympic Games (YOG) held in Nanjing, China.
With hot and humid conditions on a very technical course, our youths conquered the race to better their initial target of improving on Singapore's 2010's performance. Bryce Chong breaks the 1 hour barrier in a time of 59:53.00 to finished 22nd out of a field of 32 world class youth athletes from around the globe. Denise Chia finished her race, also with a Personal Best time of 1:06:06, in a position of 24th out of 32 athletes.
On the 3rd race day, the Singaporean duo paired up with Japan's Koyo Yamasaki and China's Feng Jingshuang, to represent Asian Team 2 in the mixed Relay category. They completed the race in 1:30.50, to finished in 13th out of 16 teams.
Well Done Denise and Bryce! And thanks for the inspirational and outstanding performances!
Special Thanks also to Coach Eugene Lee and Manager Eugene Ong for being with them throughout, their parents for their constant Support, and the team from SNOC for leading Team Singapore in Nanjing 2014 YOG.
