TRI-SKILLS COACHING FUNDAMENTAL COURSE 2012
The Tri-Skills Coaching Fundamental Course is a program driven, coordinated and managed by TAS, with the assistance of Qualified ITU accredited coaches. The course is an interactive one that involves group discussion, presentations and most importantly, a large aspect of the course is made up of practical coaching experience throughout all three disciplines.
Participants will be introduced to the fundamental skills of coaching, like building rapport, demonstrate and explain the technical development components of Triathlon at Grassroots level.
Tri-Skills Objectives: This is the first step towards a coaching pathway in the sports of Triathlon, beginning from Grassroots and community levels, to the more advanced Elite and National athletes.
Tri-Skills target participants: It is aimed at volunteers, teachers, parents and prospective coaches who wish to work with children or novice level triathletes.
Course Criteria
Course Duration:
- 9 hours covered over a period of 1 day, of both Theory and Practical Sessions.
- Written Examinations with minimum 85% passing rate.
Upon completion of course, to get certified:
- Participants are required to complete 5 hours of coaching practical with TAS’s endorsed coaches.
- Possess a current CPR & First Aid Certification.
- Time requirement : 1 month
Pre-Requisites:
- Member of TAS
- 18 years of Age
Course Details:
Date/Time: 28 May 2012 (Monday), 8am to 6pm or 9 June 2012 (Saturday), 0830am to 1830pm
Venue: TBC
Conducted by: Triathlon Association of Singapore
Course Size: For 40 participants per day only (Minimum of 20 to run course, registration on a first-come-first serve basis, and will closed 7 days before course date or once places are filled)
Cost: SGD $107.00 (inclusive of 7% GST)
(All Successful participants will be awarded with a Tri Skills Coaching Fundamental Certification, as well as a Polo T-Shirt. Certification in this course does not entitle you to coach triathlon in a commercial basis, but allows you a platform to be able to assist qualified coaches to deliver certain aspects of triathlon coaching under their direct supervision (in schools, clubs or individual environment), as well as offers you an advantage towards upgrading to upcoming advance coaching courses by TAS, like the NCAP Level 1 Triathlon and the ITU level 1 Community Coaching Course.)

OSIM Singapore International Triathlon 2012 Update !!
Dear friends and triathletes,
TAS had been receiving many enquiries on registration period for the OSIT 2012 event.
The OSIT 2012 event schedule in July 2012 will still be taking place! We've heard all feedbacks from last year, and are currently in the midst of re-strategising, to bring to the masses an even more fun, enjoyable and most importantly, safe race.
Registration will open soon, scheduled to be in Mid April 2012. We look forward to seeing all of you again!
