ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER / SENIOR MANAGER

D

REPORTS TO : TAS GENERAL MANAGER AND TAS GOVERNING BOARD

A. Primary Purpose:

The AGM / SM will be the co-ordinator of the following key areas of responsibilities:

  • a) Secretariat Management
  • b) Sports Development (Pathway, Community)
  • c) Events Management
  • d) Marketing, Communications, PR, Brand Management (Website, Social Media)
  • e) Business, Sponsorship, Donation Management

a) Secretariat Management

  • To oversee the work and well-being of all staff
  • To ensure optimal staffing requirements.
  • Plan, appraise and monitor staff development.
  • To manage all staffing issue (eg, resolve conflict, provide counselling, motivate and encourage)

b) Sports Development

  • Oversee the development of community and of grass roots programs to increase participation
  • Support the Development Committee in their programs (Youth Aquathlon League, Camps, Clinics)
  • Support the Women’s Committee in their programs (Women’s Race, Camps, Clinics)

c) Events Management

  • Competition Manager role in TAS organized Events (with 3rd party Event Delivery Partner), ensure the budget and timeline of the event, proper management and organisation in accordance to agreement.
  • Oversee the sanction policy, Recruitment of Technical Officials for sanctioned events.
  • Oversee the planning, coordination and management of Triathlon and related multi-sports Events’ Calendar in Singapore 

d) Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Brand Management (Together with GM and Board, with support from 3rd party external vendors where required)

  • Oversee and Manage TAS brand and public communications
  • Oversee and Manage TAS website and Social Media
  • Ensure timely dissemination of news and updates to the triathlon communities through various platforms such as TAS website, social media, emails, newsletter etc.
  • Develop and implement a marketing plan to properly elevate and strengthen TAS brand publicly: schedule of postings to increase followings, outreach and profile of TAS’s activities, athletes, clubs.
  • Where needed, to Invite Guest of Honour for events, address the necessary needs and prepare the admin briefs.
  • Where needed, oversee the preparation of any press release and ensure that the releases are sent out at appropriate times for all activities, in consultation with the Board
  • Manage and maintain media relations and be media spokesperson for the organisation.

e) Business / Sponsorship / Donation Development (Together with GM and Board, with support from 3rd party external vendors where required)

  • Develop and implement strategies to diversify revenue streams.
  • Develop and Implement strategic plans to increase sponsorships and donations. Tasks includes writing sponsorship agreement, presenting the sponsorship plan, negotiating contracts, managing contractual risks
  • Manage and maintain sponsorships and partnerships agreements. Ensure deliverables for both sponsors and TAS are fulfilled.
  • Ensure events and programs are run successfully, TAS and sponsors’ publicity opportunities are optimized at all times.
  • Sponsorships (cash or value-in-kind or product or services) and donation drives for HPP and Pathway Programs

B. Secondary Purpose:

The AGM / SM will also be assisting the GM in his key functions where needed and called upon, which includes:

  • Leadership
  • Strategic Planning
  • Governance and Compliance
  • Multi Year Sports Plan
  • SportSG Annual Grant
  • Relationship and Partnership

C. General

  • Attend all meetings and prepare meeting minutes if required
  • Any other task and duties assigned by GM and/or TAS Board

Job Requirements:

  • Full time, Senior Management
  • 8 years experience in General Management, Supervisory Role, people/stakeholder Management, Business Development
  • University Degree or Diploma, preferably in fields of Business Administration, Physical Education, Sports Management or other sports-related discipline. 
  • Passion for Sports, Knowledge in Triathlon
  • Experience working with Non-Profit organisations, or any Sport Agencies is an advantage
  • Show excellent leadership quality and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude and good problem-solving skills
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Strong adaptability skills, Strong Team player with ability to build rapport and collaborative working relationship with people from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds
  • Possess initiative with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work independently under pressure to meet agreed schedules/deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Willing to work on weekends and extended working hours during events / competitions period, and travel from time to time, when called upon
  • Proficiency in MS Excel is essential, literacy in other MS Office suites required (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

(CLOSED) Community Development Coach

JOB TITLE : COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COACH (PROJECT-BASED)

TAS is actively looking to engage triathlon coaches for community sport development programs, on an ad-hoc project based basis (at least once a week).

Coaches should fulfill the following criteria:

  • Accredited with NROC and holds a minimum SG-Coach Level 1 in Triathlon, or have an equivalent in Swimming, Cycling or Athletes with the intention to undertake Triathlon coaching qualifications;
  • Current financial member with Triathlon Singapore;
  • Registered as a MOE Instructor, or with the intention to;
  • Attended the “Game-for-Life” programme, or with the intention to;
  • Ability to work with Primary and Secondary school level participants and have the extended ability to manage youths at risk;
  • Ability to commit to a year-long program that is conducted on weekday afternoons or Sundays.

Successful candidates will have to sign a letter of appointment and the coach’s agreement.

JOB TITLE: TECHNICAL DIRECTOR (PART TIME CONTRACT)
REPORTS TO: TAS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

Pre-Requisites

Qualifications

  • Minimum World Triathlon Level 2 Coaching Certification or it’s equivalent;
  • NROC registered in the sports of Triathlon;
  • All relevant certification and knowledge: Sports Science, Sports Medicine, First Aid, AED, lifesavings, BSS, VPS etc.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of Triathlon Coaching experience with Elite athletes, with a proven record of achievement in coaching elite level athletes;
  • Demonstrate the ability to transition athletes through the performance pathway, from development to Youth/Junior to U23/Elite Level;
  • Minimum of 5 years of Coaching Development experience.

Knowledge

  • Extensive knowledge of the World Triathlon’s competition rules and regulations, all ranking and qualification criteria and processes;
  • Extensive knowledge on athlete and coach development pathway.

Others

  • Good network of sponsorship partners;
  • Good network and relationship with international partners: World Triathlon, Asia Triathlon, National Federations;
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, planning and presentation skills;
  • Demonstrate tactfulness in dealing with people, impartiality in dealing in matters.

Contractual Terms

  • Part Time Contract (6 Months);
  • Renewal will depends on agreed key performances indicators being delivered (Subject to available funding and investment sourced by the employed);
  • Needs to clock a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Goal

To create an environment in which athletes and coaches can be identified, monitored, nurtured and developed to pursue international success in Triathlon competitions and Major Games.

This includes:

  • Developing a HPE Program to maximise athlete’s potential and preparation;
  • Strengthening the athlete’s development pathway between the National Junior & Youth Academy and the National Elite Squad;
  • Creating sustainability to support the National HPE program, its athletes and coaches.

Key Duties

HPE

  • To review, strengthen and coordinate the High performance’s Objectives, Tactics and Outcomes in the TAS Multi Year Strategic Plan;
  • To review, strengthen and coordinate the existing HPE Program. This includes to devise and coordinate a National Talent ID and monitoring strategy, as well as relevant supports for the athletes and coaches;
  • To maintain constant communication with key partners such as the SSI, NYSI, SSS and SNOC, to utilize available support from these partners for athletes and coaches in the HPE Program, to enhance training outcomes;
  • To devise a strategy to monitor athletes performance through comprehensive assessment, communication with coaches, and regular evaluation;
  • To deliver a centralised training program, for the purpose of monitoring athletes and coaches, as well as building camaraderie between all athletes and coaches;
  • To lead the athletes and coaches in key overseas training and competitions, such as the Asian Championships, World Cups and World Championships, qualification races, Major Games and any overseas training camps.

Develop and manage

  • SpexCarding and its relevant requirements and submissions;
  • Selection criteria for Continental & World Championships, Major Games;
  • National Triathlon Championships;
  • Athletes and coaches support policy for overseas competition with the given budget.

Coaching Education

  • To develop the Triathlon Singapore Coaching Syllabus, and work closely with Coach Singapore to get all coaching education programs endorsed and recognised;
  • To oversee the preparation and delivery of all Triathlon Singapore coaching courses, and ensure fair and even opportunities for all qualified coaches/facilitators;
  • To ensure fair selection of qualified coaches for overseas coaching courses, as well as overseas competitions and trainings;
  • To develop a strong and positive relationship with all personal coaches of athletes in the HPE program, and to ensure their capabilities through proper accreditation and certifications.

Sustainability

  • To source for funding and investments to support the HPE program, its athletes and coaches;
  • To develop and maintain strong working relationships with key partners such as Sports Singapore, Sports Institutes, SNOC, sponsors and funding partners;
  • To work out a plan to ensure sustainability in successfully implementing the goal of this role, and the key duties required.
