MOH Advisory On Novel Coronavirus (nCOV)
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has issued a series of health and travel advisories following the outbreak of the “Wuhan Coronavirus” in mainland China (see infographics attached).
In line with the MOH advisories, and as an added precaution, Athletes, Coaches, Officials and Participants are to defer all travel to mainland China until further notice. From 31 January 2020 6pm, all travellers should apply for a 14-day Leave of absence from the day of their return to Singapore from mainland China, monitor their health closely and seek medical attention promptly if they feel unwell. Travelers are also advised to implement necessary precautionary measures to protect those involved in its activities and to advocate the practice of good personal hygiene at all times.
For more information on what must be done during leave of absence, please refer to the advisories here: https://www.moh.gov.sg/docs/librariesprovider5/default-document-library/moh-health-advisory-for-persons-placed-on-leave-of-absence—01-feb-2020-1850h.pdf
Athletes, coaches or training partners either based in or from China, should ensure that they register their travels with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs online (www.mfa.gov.sg/eRegister-my-trip) and link up with MFA’s mission in China if they are already there.
You may otherwise continue with their regular activities unless there is any subsequent MOH advisory to the contrary. However, if the activity involves children, screening protocols should be implemented as advised by MOH, and this would include travel declarations and temperature taking before the start of any activity.
As the situation is evolving, everyone is advised to remain vigilant and to refer to the latest advisories and updates on MOH’s website at www.moh.gov.sg/2019-ncov-wuhan
