Request for attire sponsorship/proposal for the Triathlon Team @ the 2019 Southeast Asian Games

Triathlon Singapore will be sending our national elite athletes to represent Singapore at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. They will be participating in a total of 4 events: Triathlon Individual (2 Men & 2 Women), Triathlon Mixed Relay (2 Men & 2 Women), Duathlon Individual (2 men & 2 Women), Duathlon Mixed Relay (2 Men & 2 Women)

We are looking for sponsorship or manufacturer who is interested to support our national team in the following items:

  1. Elite Triathlon Suits x 16
  2. Cycling Jerseys x 16
  3. Cycling Bibs x 16
  4. Design for the above attires

If you’re interested to sponsor/support/quote, please write in to eugene.ong@triathlonsingapore.org with your proposal. You might want to include if it’s a partial or full sponsorship, retail cost and also a sample of suit design for our Triathlon National Team. The attire is to be compliance to the 2019 SEA Games Manufacturer guidelines.

(Note: We might consider using the attire as the approved attire for our 2020 National HPP Team (Subject to approval from ITU for design of attire). Our team will wear this attire for all their overseas ITU races for 2020 and beyond. As such you may want to include this in your proposal.)

Attire to be ready by: 1 October 2019

Recruitment for Project Based Community Development Coaches

Triathlon Singapore is looking to engage triathlon coaches for 6 community sport development programs, launching from August onwards.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

– Valid Triathlon Singapore member (current no later than 30 June 2019)

– SG Coach Certified

– NROC accredited coach

– Able to commit to entire term of project

– Able to attend additional preparation training

Triathlon Singapore is selecting athletes into our Age Group Triathlon Team to compete at the Age Group World Triathlon Championships, representing Singapore.

Athletes will be selected for their age group category in 5-years blocks: (16-19, 20-24,25-29,…) for both Men and Women.

 

Eligibility:

  • Singapore Citizens and PR(residing in Singapore for a minimum of 3 years)
  • Members of Triathlon Singapore before the world championships events. (To apply, please visit here)
  • Not represent another National Federation in the current calendar year.
  • Sprint Distance: minimum 16 years old as of 31 Dec 2019
  • Standard Distance: minimum 18 years old as of 31 Dec 2019

 

Qualifying process:

For Sprint Age Group World Triathlon Championships

  • Register for the MetaSprint Triathlon race on 28 April.
  • Qualified by coming in top 10 and within 10% of winner’s time, in their age group category.
  • Ensure draft-legal competency

For Standard Age Group World Triathlon Championships

 

Note:

  • All qualified athletes will be send an invitation email within 3 days of the qualifying event, with registration instructions for the Age Group World Triathlon Championships
  • If you think you qualified but have NOT received any invitation email, please write in to eugene.ong@triathlonsingapore.org to enquire

 

Discretionary qualification:

  • For athletes whom had NOT qualified via the above qualifying process, or for athletes residing overseas.
  • Write in to eugene.ong@triathlonsingapore.org by 30 June 2019, 23:59, to apply for your interest.

Due to quota number of slots available for each National Federation, entries via discretionary qualification will be considered on a case-by-case. Priority will be given to athletes whom had already qualified via the qualifying process.

 

Race Requirements:

  • ITU Competition Rules and Regulation applies.
  • Bike: ITU compliant bike for Sprint (Draft-Legal) and Standard (Non-Drafting)
  • Race Suit: Team SGP approved race suit (Cost: $180-$200), manufacturing time: estimated 1 month
  • Fully Self-funded: Entry Fees (Sprint CHF 330, Standard CHF 350, Package CHF 550), Travel and Accommodation, Travel Insurance, Race Suit

Phoebe Kee in strong gold medal contention for the Sea Games Duathlon

John Chicano of the Philippines and Phoebe Kee of Singapore each put a stronghold in their bid to represent their countries in the sport of Duathlon in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

Phoebe Kee of Singapore warded off a strong challenge from Filipinas Jelsie Sabado and Mirasol Abad to win the inaugural TriFactor Run Bike Run Philippines in 2:20:53. Kee both had the best run 1 and run 2 splits of the day among the female elites. A 2nd best 1:17:56 bike split supplemented a strong day for the Singaporean, winning with a comfortable gap of 1 minute and 22 seconds. Sabado and Abad finished in 2:22:15 and 2:25:06 respectively to complete podium spots.

2019 SEA Games Selection Policy – Ammended

The 2019 SEA Games Selection Policy had been amended. There is no change to the selection process, but some re-wording of the sentences, and inclusion of confirmation of Selection races for Individual Duathlon event, and Mixed Relay selection races for Triathlon and Duathlon.

All athletes seeking to qualify for SEA Games Selection are responsible to refer to the Policy and any amendments made.

Registrations for the 2019 ITU Age Group World Championships is now open. Have you qualified?

Eligibility Checklist:

• Entry is open to Singaporean Citizens and PR (resident in Singapore for a minimum of 3 years)
• Athletes must be members of the Triathlon Association of Singapore. To apply, please visit here.
• Athletes must not have represented another National Federation in the current calendar year.
• Sprint Distance (Draft-Legal) – Athletes must have qualified via the Metasprint Triathlon, held on 28 April 2019. For more info, please visit here.
• Standard Distance (Non Drafting) – Athletes can qualify via the Trifactor Triathlon, to be held on 14 July 2019. For more info, please visit here.

How to register:

  • Registration for the ITU Age Group World Championships, representing Singapore, can ONLY be done via Triathlon Singapore.
  • Athletes qualified via the qualifying events by coming in top 10, and within 10% of the winner’s time.
  • All qualified athletes will be send an invitation email within 3 days of the qualifying event, with registration instructions.
  • Athletes whom are interested in trying out for qualification are encourage to write in early to eugene.ong@triathlonsingapore.org before the qualifying events, to state their intent. This is to prevent any delay in the registration process should the athlete qualified.

Discretionary

Athletes may request for a discretionary slot if they falls in the following category:
1) Athletes whom are outside of the Top 10 or not within 10% of winner’s time.
2) Singaporeans whom are not able to race in the qualifying events due to them residing overseas, or for any other valid reason.They are required to submit to TAS race results within a 12 months period for verification of competency.

However, due to limited slots available for each National Federation, priority will first go towards athletes whom had already qualified via the qualifying events

Race Requirements:

• Athletes are required to have an ITU Compliant Race suit: ITU Logo, Country Code, Back Zipper, Approved NF color and design.
