Registrations for the 2018 Age Group World Championships is now open. Have you qualified?

Eligibility Checklist:

• Entry is open to Singaporean nationals and PR (resident in Singapore for a minimum of 3 years)
• Athletes must be members of the Triathlon Association of Singapore. To apply, please visit here.
• Athletes must not have represented another National Federation in the current calendar year.
• Sprint Distance (Draft-Legal) – Athletes must have qualified via the Metasprint Triathlon NTC Race 1, held on 15 April 2018 (Completed). For more info, please visit here.
• Standard Distance (Draft-Illegal) – Athletes can qualify via the Trifactor Triathlon NTC Race 2, to be held on 29 July 2018. For more info, please visit here.

How to register:

• For Age Group Sprint World Championships, qualified athletes would have received an email invitation. If you’d qualified, but have not received any invitations, please write in to eugene.ong@triathlonsingapore.org
• For Age Group Standard World Championships, athletes can qualify via the Trifactor Triathlon NTC Race 2 on 29 July 2018, by coming in Top 10 & within 10% of winner’s time, in their age group.
• Registration for the Age Group World Championships can only be done via TAS. An email instructions will be send to you if you’d qualified.

Discretionary

• Athletes may request for a discretionary slot if they falls in the following category:
• Athletes whom are outside of the Top 10 or not within 10% of winner’s time, but close
• Singaporeans residing overseas, whom are not able to race in the 2 qualifying races. Validated race results within a 1 year period is required to be submitted to TAS for verification of competency.

Race Requirements:

ITU Competition Rules and Regulation Applies.
• Please ensure your bike is compliant to ITU rules for Sprint Draft-Legal and Standard Draft-Illegal.
• Athletes are required to have an ITU Compliant Race suit: ITU Logo, Country Code, Back Zipper, Approved NF color and design.
• Fully Self Fund: Entry Fees, Travel Insurance, Travel and Accommodation, Team Uniform.

National Triathlon Championships (NTC) Series 2018

Are you good enough to race against the best tri-athletes in Singapore? See where you ranked in the National Standings and stand a chance to win prize money!

Did you know that if you are a Singaporean or PR (Residing in Singapore for more than 3 years), you can qualify to represent Singapore at the International Triathlon Union (ITU) Age Group World Championships? You will be racing against the best Age Group athletes from across the world in either the Sprint or Standard Distance, and you might be crowned the World Champion in your Age Group!

Introduction

From 2018, TAS introduces the 1st season of the NTC Series. This series will play an integral part in the development of the domestic competitive racing scene. It provides an opportunity for top athletes in Singapore to race head to head in the most competitive environment over a season of domestic races.

Top Singaporean Age Groupers, Singapore PR and foreigners, whom had met the entry requirements, will  also be invited to participate in the NTC Series. This will increase the competiveness and provide an opportunity for them to pit their racing skills against athletes in the National High Performance program (HPP), and vice-verse.  This also allows for Talent ID opportunities of athletes into the HPP pathway.

TAS Selection Policy – YOG 2018

TAS Selection Policy – Youth Olympic Games 2018

TAS announces the National Selection Policy for the upcoming Bueno Aires YOG 2018 to be held in Oct 2018. The policydetails the selection process for athletes to race in the YOG Asian Qualifiers as well as for nomination of athletes to SNOC for YOG 2018. In summary, the process for qualification goes like this:

Eligibility check:

  • Singaporean
  • Athlete under the TAS HPP
  • Born between 1 January 2001 and 31 December 2002
  • Valid TAS Individual Membership

SGP qualifying race: Subic Bay ASTC Triathlon Asian Cup (21 April 2018)

  • Top 2 Male and Top 2 Female Singaporean qualifies for Asian Qualifier
  • (Should there be less than 2 Singaporean, TAS discretion to select the athletes for Asian Qualifier)

Asian Qualifier: Subic Bay YOG Asian Qualifier ( 17 June 2018)

  • Top 5 Nation qualifies
  • Should a Singaporean comes in within top 5 Nation, he/she qualifies a place for SGP at the YOG 2018.
  • TAS shall nominate his/her name to SNOC
  • SNOC does the final selection of athletes to be going for the YOG 2018.

Singapore International Triathlon 2017 – National Championships

Men Start – 7.10AM, Women Start – 7.30AM

This year’s Singapore International Triathlon 2017 will see Singapore’s top triathletes competing against one another in the National Championships category. Every triathlete will be racing hard to be crowned national champions, with ITU points given to the top 5 triathletes.  With this being a sprint distance race instead of the olympic standard distance, it is going to be a very exciting Sunday with the juniors pitting against the seniors in the familiar settings of East Coast Park, you will see the battle between the bests!

While Christy Suriadi, Bryce Chong and Nicholas Rachmadi have already been selected for the XXI Commonwealth Games, this National Championships will need to find 3 more triathletes for TAS nominations to SNOC to fill up the remaining 1 men and 2 women slots. Look out for bronze medallist Clement Chow and Wille Loo who finished a close 4th behind Clement in the recent SEA Games, also not forgetting Zac Low, a confirmed contender in the 2018 Asian Games. These 3 will be putting up their best for this 1 slot. Winona Howe’s withdrawal from this race due to an unfortunate injury has kept the options open with Phoebe Kee and Ethel Lin amongst the favourites now fighting for the 2 women nomination spots.

Will we see the favourites dominating again this Sunday or will we see surprises? With elite starts comprising of 13 men and 5 women, this category will be the highlights of Sunday morning.
